About

I'm Brook Xiao — a designer and classically trained singer shaping how people interact with intelligent systems.

I study Human–Computer Interaction, Statistics & Machine Learning, and Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University. My work sits at the intersection of data, interaction design, and performance, using quantitative methods and embodied practice to build precise, human-centered tools.

Recent projects range from BelCanto Hub, an interactive opera platform that rethinks how young audiences experience live performance, to modular AR table-tennis trainers and accessible navigation systems that connect sensing, feedback, and user experience.

Across both voice and interface, I aim to design systems that balance rigor and empathy — experiences that feel intuitive and alive, even when powered by machine intelligence.
